Terms & Conditions
For the purposes of this document, the terms Client, Parent, Pet Parent, Owner, Pet Owner, Guardian, Pet Guardian and Customer are synonymous with the person contracting services for one or more domestic animals. The Pet Concierge, Canine Concierge Services, Cat Concierge Services and Pet Care Provider are synonymous with the person contracted to provide services.
Relationship and Responsibilities
It is expressly understood that the Pet Parent retains the services of the Pet Care Provider as an Independent Contractor and not as an employee. The Pet Care Provider shall be responsible for his/her insurance and all statutory declarations and payments with regard to taxes.
Pet Parent is responsible for pet-proofing house and yard, and the security fences/gates/latches. The Pet Concierge will not be responsible for the safety of any pets and will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
Pet Parent is responsible for supplying the necessary, safe equipment/supplies needed for care of their pet(s), including but not limited to a sturdy, well-fit harness (halter, collar, etc…) for walks, a lead rope or leash, pooper-scoopers, litter boxes, food, cleaning supplies, medicines, pet food, and cat litter. Pet Parent authorizes any purchases necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. Pet Parent agrees to be responsible for the payment of such items, as well as service fees for obtaining items, and will reimburse The Pet Concierge within 14 days for all purchases made. The Pet Concierge does not recommend, and will not use shock/e-collars, prong collars, choke chains or retractable leashes.
Pet Care Provider will supply and be equipped with waste bags and/or a scooper and will duly remove the dog's feces from all public places. Every reasonable effort will be made to clean up any messes caused by pets in the home, or on the property of the Parent.
Pet Care Provider warrants to keep safe and confidential all keys, remote control entry devices, access codes and personal information of the Parent and to return same to the Parent at the end of the contract period or immediately upon demand.
Pet Parent will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a Pet Care Provider, or other persons, caused by the pet as well as damage to the Parent's property caused by the pet. Parent agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend The Pet Concierge, in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet.
Pet Care Provider undertakes to perform the agreed-on services in an attentive, reliable and caring manner and the Pet Parent undertakes to provide all necessary information to assist in this performance.
Pet Care Provider undertakes to notify the Parent of any occurrence pertaining to the pet which may be relevant to the care and well-being of the pet.
Pet Parent agrees to notify The Pet Concierge of any changes to instructions, routine, medications, food, and the condition of the pet (illness, injury, contagious diseases, etc.) before the next date of service.
Pet Parent agrees to notify The Pet Concierge of any concerns within 24 hours of return.
Liability
Pet Care Provider will carry liability insurance relative to the services performed for the Pet Parent.
The Pet Concierge shall not be held liable for:
Services
A Service Request must be submitted before service is provided for any period. Service shall not be considered scheduled until & unless confirmation of services is obtained from the Pet Care Provider.
The Pet Concierge agrees to provide services in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. In consideration of the services as an express condition thereof, the client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against the company and its employees, except those arising from negligence. Claims of negligence that involve a hired Independent Contractor, hired by The Pet Concierge, will be the responsibility of the Independent Contractor and the company they represent. All hired Independent Contractors are also required to carry liability insurance with optional coverage or bonding through a reputable company.
Future Services: Parent authorizes this contract to be valid approval for services so as to permit The Pet Concierge to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations and enter my home without additional signed contracts or written authorizations.
The Pet Care Provider shall not be obliged to perform any other duties except those specified on the Service Request.
Fees/Payments
Payment is due at time of service. via: Cash, Check, PayPal, Venmo, FB Messenger, Zelle, or Cash App
A $5 per visit late charge will be assessed to service that is not paid in advance. Not yet cleared PayPal payments will be honored. Advanced payments may also be made on a weekly, or monthly, basis for regularly scheduled visits.
There will be a $20 service charge for each returned check.
It is recommended that a spare key be provided to The Pet Concierge at the initial consultation. There will be a key pick up fee of $10 for keys not left out, or provided to the Pet Care Provider at the initial consultation. Keys will be returned once free of charge, but an additional $10 per drop off will be assessed for each and every drop off requested thereafter.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the Parent of scheduled visits with less than 48 hrs notice may be charged at the full rate or rescheduled at the discretion of the Pet Care Provider. If payment was made in advance, a credit will be issued, or a full refund if cancelled at least 48 hours in advance of service date.
Reservations are made in order to plan Pet Care Provider availability to clients. Therefore, clients returning home early will be required to pay for the reserved amount of time scheduled. Clients will not have to pay for scheduled Additional Services not performed.
Where the Pet Care Provider needs to cancel a scheduled visit due to unforeseen circumstances, a pre-approved back-up Pet Care Provider will be utilized, or he/she may appoint a substitute Pet Care Provider with the written approval of the Parent.
Any wrongful or misleading information in the Client Info Form or Pet Info Form(s) may constitute a breach of terms and be grounds for instant termination thereof. Termination under these circumstances shall not entitle the Parent to any refunds.
The Pet Concierge reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time if the Pet Care Provider, in his/her sole discretion determines that Parent's pet poses a danger to the health or safety of itself, other pets, other people, or the Pet Care Provider. If concerns prohibit the Pet Care Provider from caring for the pet, the Parent authorizes the pet to be placed in a kennel (or previously arranged locale), with all charges (including but not limited to transportation, kenneling, tranquilizing, treating, accessing, and liability) to be the responsibility of the Parent. Termination under these circumstances shall not entitle the Parent to any refunds.
Photos
Pet Parent gives express permission for Pet Care Provider to post photos and stories of pet(s) on social media and for use in marketing. These photos and stories will not include identifying information about the Parent or the location of in-home services.
Vaccines & Parasite Preventative
For any services where pets will be engaging with others; such as playdates, group walks or boarding; pets must be kept up to date on core vaccines (or titers), rabies, and flea preventative.
Relaxation of Terms
No relaxation, indulgence, waiver or release by any party of any of the rights in terms of this agreement on one occasion shall prevent the subsequent enforcement of such rights and shall not be deemed to be a waiver of any subsequent breach of any of the terms.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be construed, interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington and should any provision of these Terms & Conditions be judged by an appropriate court as invalid, it shall not affect any of the remaining provisions whatsoever.
General
Client agrees to any future The Pet Concierge term changes relayed verbally to the client, mailed or emailed in writing to the client, or posted on our website.
Paragraph headings are for convenience of reference only and are not intended to have any effect in the interpretation or determining of rights or obligations under this agreement.
Where appropriate, words signifying one gender shall include the other and words signifying the singular shall include the plural and vice versa.

Pet Care Provider will supply and be equipped with waste bags and/or a scooper and will duly remove the dog's feces from all public places. Every reasonable effort will be made to clean up any messes caused by pets in the home, or on the property of the Parent.
Pet Care Provider warrants to keep safe and confidential all keys, remote control entry devices, access codes and personal information of the Parent and to return same to the Parent at the end of the contract period or immediately upon demand.
Pet Parent will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a Pet Care Provider, or other persons, caused by the pet as well as damage to the Parent's property caused by the pet. Parent agrees to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend The Pet Concierge, in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet.
Pet Care Provider undertakes to perform the agreed-on services in an attentive, reliable and caring manner and the Pet Parent undertakes to provide all necessary information to assist in this performance.
Pet Care Provider undertakes to notify the Parent of any occurrence pertaining to the pet which may be relevant to the care and well-being of the pet.
Pet Parent agrees to notify The Pet Concierge of any changes to instructions, routine, medications, food, and the condition of the pet (illness, injury, contagious diseases, etc.) before the next date of service.
Pet Parent agrees to notify The Pet Concierge of any concerns within 24 hours of return.
Liability
Pet Care Provider will carry liability insurance relative to the services performed for the Pet Parent.
The Pet Concierge shall not be held liable for:
- Any breach of security, or loss of, or damage to, the Parent's property, if any other person has access to the property during the term of this agreement.
- Any loss or damage in the event a burglary or other crime that should occur while under this contract. Pet Parent agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises. The Pet Concierge will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit.
- Damage to Parent's home or property caused by clients’ pets and damage to the home beyond the control of the Pet Care Provider. This includes, but is not limited to leaks, electrical problems, and acts of nature. In these situations, the company will attempt to contact the customer and then the emergency contact before making a subjective decision on dealing with the problem. All repairs and related fees will be paid by the client, or fully reimbursed to The Pet Concierge within 14 days.
- Sickness, injury, loss, or death of the pet through non-negligence of the Pet Care Provider. The Pet Concierge is authorized to seek any emergency veterinarian assistance needed during visits, per the instructions authorized on the Veterinary Release Form. However, the company is not responsible for the health/wellbeing of the animal.
- The Pet Concierge will not be responsible for the safety of any pets and will not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet with unsupervised access to the outdoors.
- Plant damage or death due to conditions beyond the Pet Care Provider’s control & responsibility
- Damages related to transporting pet(s) to and from any veterinary clinic or kennel, the medical treatment of the pet(s) and the expense thereof.
